EXCLUSIVE: Streaming service Lionsgate Plus UK is closing on February 29 leaving the hugely popular show Outlander without a home.

Outlander's UK fans have been dealt a crushing blow as the Lionsgate Plus UK streaming service winds up on February 29. The channel had been broadcasting episodes of the hugely popular period fantasy drama one day after they aired in the US and previous series were also available on the site.

However, with the company set to cease its UK arm shortly, Outlander, which stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, has yet to find a home elsewhere for UK fans to watch. This means that as of February 29, there will be no legal way for UK viewers to watch the show.

When contacted by Express.co.uk to enquire if it would show elsewhere a representative for Lionsgate said: "Unfortunately, we do not have any information on this at the moment. We currently do not know if Starz/Lionsgate+ programming will be available through other providers in the UK after 29 February."

This will come as a huge blow to fans who are currently eagerly awaiting part two of season seven. While no official broadcast date has been given for it yet, it is believed that it will begin to air before April.

With such a tight time frame before the new season launches, it is unlikely that the show will find a new UK home before broadcast. Not only do UK fans face missing out on the new seasons but after February 29 they will no longer be able to rewatch previous seasons which are currently available on Lionsgate Plus.

However, the finale revealed he survived and reunited with his wifeClaire Fraser(Caitriona Balfe) to fulfill a long-held promise to return to Scotland.

After their journey to Scotland took an unexpected turn, the couple returned to Lallybroch with Young Ian (John Bell) in tow who was reunited with his family.

Meanwhile, Roger and Brianna Fraser’s (Sophie Skelton) son Jemmy (Matthew Adair) was kidnapped by Rob Cameron (Chris Fulton) after reading Roger’s time-traveling guide and in the hopes of finding him, he was travelling back to the past.

With so many storylines left hanging, fans are desperate to know what happens.

Part two of the season will draw from Diana Gabaldon's seventh and eighth books, An Echo in the Bone and Written in My Own Blood.

The regular cast members are set to return, along with some new additions. The role of Jamie's sister, Jenny Murray, will now be portrayed by Kristin Atherton, having originally been played by Laura Donnelly. Fans will recognise Kristen from Waterloo Road and Doctors.

Meanwhile, the eighth and final series of the show currently looks set to air in the final quarter of 2025 after filming was delayed due to the US actor's strikes.
