Why is my demotion shield expiring? ›

After climbing up a division, players are granted a Demotion Shield that lasts for approximately three matches. In contrast, advancing to a higher tier rewards players with a shield for about ten matches.

We're resetting ranks, but less than usual and you'll only need to do 5 placement games. Promotion series are gone.
